Business Name: Story Scout
What does the business/ organisation do?
Everything I do is inspired by making the world a better place for small business owners to work and live. As a solo-preneur, I understand how running a business leaves you with little time to manage your website and online marketing. I get a real sense of satisfaction from creating beautiful and affordable websites and marketing content to best fit my client’s goals and budget. I am the sounding board for their vision and ideas and we collaborate as a team to bring it all to life through a compelling brand story that goes on to underpin their entire online strategy.
What do you love about your work?
I simply adore face time with my clients. I love going out and grabbing a coffee with them and nutting out the essence of their business. Learning about why my clients do what they do really fuels my own creative energy. I love to bring that human-ness back to the very ‘digital’ business of creating websites and online content.
What were your biggest achievements for 2015?
In 2015 I fell in love with Squarespace. So much so that I started creating very simple yet beautiful websites for one-man-band business owners. Often people just starting out in business have no idea where to start when it comes to building a website, setting up an email newsletter or just writing some content for their LinkedIn profile. I have been working with health professionals, tradesmen and café owners to get started with a simple website and email marketing strategy.
What are your goals leading into 2016?
Since working with the Squarespace platform, I’ve learnt that beautiful imagery is essential for good business branding. And like most twenty-somethings, I already spend far too much time taking photos all over the place. So this year I plan to take a photography course so that I can take beautiful photos for my clients to use across their websites.
What is your favourite food and restaurant?
I love going out for breakfast – probably because of my love of good coffee. I’m always on the hunt for good breaky spots but my favourite is an unassuming little place called ‘Green’ on Sydney Road.
